I have Telkom uncapped and Afrihost capped.

Although Afrihost capped is cheap, I don't really see a speed difference between Telkom uncapped and Afrihost. I believe there is much room for improvement when it comes to speed and responsiveness regarding Afrihost's capped account since it is a capped product.

What would be the best ISP to use if you're looking for a capped account for high speed on 10MB ADSL? I would be willing to pay around R100 for 4 gig but it needs to be priority bandwidth that is responsive / fast.

(I know the ADSL exchange could also be a problem with congestion but I normally switch between Telkom and Afrihost when things slow down - that usually helps a bit so I doubt that it is ADSL exchange congestion that may be at fault here)

I had who, *15 years* ago, was getting over 100Mbps .... he was lucky enough to have been tapped directly into the IS JHB FDDI. Downlaoding DVD's in under a minute back when 56K was the expensive product was pure eviiiil.

As you say, it truely is all about location, location, location.

You can do a lot better than R25 a GB:

WebAfrica has amazing prices on their capped products and I am quite happy with the speed and responsiveness of my connection. Give their 1GB free account a go and see if you like it.

I don't know if Yahclick gives them a bad name ..... but I have MAJOR issues with vox, I will never shop there again!!!

Vox products work great when they work. Their customer support is shocking though and general attitude towards their customers.

So far Web Africa and Vox looks like the best options. Any other ISP's anybody can recommend?

Most reliable I will say VOX & WA

Afrihost is close, when their stuff works it works good

What about Axxess? Their capped accounts are completely unshaped, unlike Afrihost.

VOX is OK, but their support sux, unless your business goes and contact the CEO to get things done.

I have not tried Axxess yet so I can't comment, they do run on MTN which is a gamble at best.

Vox support is ridiculously retarded sometimes cheeky and mean.

BUT.... Vox products barely malfunctions making the need for support not a necessity.
