Need to apply for a DSL enabled ADSL line and get it running ASAP. I had a line several years ago for dial up but later changed to WIFI and cancelled the line. Would it be much quicker as the hardware infrastructure are in place? I know my DSL exchange is enabled for DSL but 2-3 yrs back they do not have the capacity.

Should I call 10219? Go to Telkom direct shop? Use webafrica's assisted application or something? I am sick and tired of my current WISP as no internet from beginning of Sep and give me stories everyday but not come to fix it. Please help me guys.

Order a normal telephone line first via 10219 then when that is installed you can go to a ISP like Webafrica

My setup was the same as yours. Had a place that had a line that wasn't used (cancelled).

Ordered adsl (via Telkom's web site) and was up and running in 4 days, don't ask how :D

Surprisingly, my conversion to ADSL was done within a day. It took 3 months to get a new phone line though.

Thanks to cable theft, the cable provider for Telkom can not meet up with the demand so lots of places there's no extra capacity and cables for new lines.
