Good day guys,

I really need some good advice

for the last year and a half I've been to hell and back regarding my vehicle,

The car developed a rattle in the steering column, it was replaced under warranty(R29 567).this solved the rattle problem but the electric power steering made a strange noise when pulling away and the steering got uncomfortably soft after they replaced the steering column.

one of the senior technicians at kia head office advised to replace the steering column again as there might be a defect with the new column, This was replaced under warranty again(R29 567).This did not solve the new problem.

after taking it back numerous of times kia managed to solve the problem, steering calibration, kia did not realise that they had to calibrate the new column as this column is also used on hyundais with different settings.

two months ago the column started to rattle over rough surfaces again(a weak after the "calibration"),it sounds like a spring or bearings, basically metal on metal.

so far the yoke spring and utherane pad was replaced but this did not solve the problem.

I can't help to think that kia might have replaced my original steering column that the vehicle was shipped with just to get rid of me, because the first two steering column replacement fixed the rattle(it was in my vehicle for over four months since the "calibration") and the rattle was completely gone.

For the last year and a half I've booked my vehicle in 27 times to four different dealers. And just walked into the dealers more times than I can count.

I've done all that I could, dealt with head office, customer relations executives.

What does the law say about faulty cars that cannot be fixed that is still under warranty?

Did you not ask the dealer principal?

Agreed - go to the original DP of the crowd who replaced your steering column, and ask him what to do next.

He should be able to assist - if not, then go the Kia Head Office route.

Or moan on their Facebook page. They resolve those public complaints ASAP
