Hi guys,
About 2 months ago we were on a farm for the weekend and went to the river to take some pics. I have a Canon EOS 1000D and bought a 70-300 macro lens with it. Well my son had the camera bag with the macro lens in it while I snapped some pics with the standard lens that came with the camera. He somehow dropped the bag and it got wet, but only a bit if you know what I mean... just in some shallow water. He quickly removed the bag and later I checked the macro lens, and although a bit wet, it still worked ok.
Today when I used the camera for the first time, the lens would not focus...
Can the lens still be fixed and do I need to take it to a repair shop? If so, could you recommend any place in the Cape Town area, preferably the Northern Suburbs as I work in that area.
I just hope it's not too much damage. It is insured so perhaps if it's a lost cause I can try and claim??
Thanks in advance!
