Faulty Line ?

Hi, can anyone with a bit of telkom knowlegde help with this, my phone does not work but my adsl works, telkom says this is a cable problem, can this be. I thought the signal came on same line, therefore if phone line is dead should the adsl not be dead!

WOW. Really? Nooit. Interesting teklom backwards.
My line was fawlty 2 weeks ago, same deal, DSL worked, voice did not.
Teckie came over and eventually did some re-wiring at the post and then it all worked fine.

Interesting, didn't know that - what do they use for ground then if only one wire is use for the signal?
