Hi all
I've had a pretty good quality stable ADSL for years. I recently did some renovations which did a few things:
- new power point near modem
- LOTS of dust from sanding floors and anglegrinding walls
- phone lines and connection points moved around
Since the renovations, my once stable ADSL line is no more. I am experiencing very high noise ratios (ranging from -4db to 9db, with 6db most commonly). My stable line speed is down from 10Mb to on average around 6Mb.
I've requested a port reset from Telkom which has not fixed the issue.
My question is; is it possible that this is due to a faulty modem (probably caused by all the dust)?
Or do I report a fault with Telkom in the hopes that the moving things around has somehow caused an increase in line noise?
Thanks
