need some help with this darn motion pad. upon start up it will automatically click none stop (making that dRRRRRRRR sound) and then when i click on a folder and open it then the first next folder automatically highlights as if i want to rename it and the process just continues untill 2-3mins later all is fine

i thought that it was a virus (as there was a couple of virus on) or driver problem and decided to re-install windows and get the latest drivers (THANKS PONDER) but the problem still persists. it a asus A6Rp laptop, xp pro sp2

any ideas on a fix?

Is there any other software that comes with your laptop that assists the mouse/trackpad? (Like Synaptics)

Disable the touchpad with Fn + one of the F keys (should be marked with a little pointing finger, usually in blue) then try a normal mouse. The click button may be faulty. Spilt any drinks on it lately?
