Faulty new tablet, Vodacom won't replace

Hi,

I got a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition from Vodacom on a contract last week Wednesday.

I noticed that, when scolling and then holding my finger still on the screen, the screen constantly keeps jittering while my finger is STILL on the screen. It's really annoying and I can easily replicate it in my day to day use of the tablet.

So I took it in a day later (Thursday) and showed the lady at Vodacom what the problem was. She booked it in and said it will be replaced within 7 working days. I went to Vodacom today to hear if there was any update on the tablet, only to find my same tablet with a paper saying "NO FAULT FOUND". So she referred me to the Vodacom Care Centre in Potchefstroom.

I went to them and showed them the problem. The technician and lady working at the desk BOTH admitted that they see what's wrong, but they tell me it's not a problem, the tablet was designed to do that. They kept insisting that it is not a problem, but my friend has the EXACT same tablet and his does not have this problem.

I'm awaiting a call from them to speak to the manager, but there is NO WAY in hell that I'm not going to get a replacement on this. It's a day old and clearly faulty, and according to the CPA, I have a the right to get a replacement unit.

@Vodacom Rep. Please contact me if you can sort this out for me and get a replacement.

EDIT: This is the exact fault that I have: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGQENDDGd-4

Take Vodascum to the small claims court and lodge a complaint at the Consumer Commission. Looks like they sold you a lemon!

I'd complain to Samsung. Their service has been brilliant when I've dealt with them. I took in my Galaxy S3 for repairs to Vodacom last year and they sent it to Samsung to fix. Samsung replaced the motherboard and called me 2 days later wanting to know if Vodacom gave me any crap or tried to charge me anything, which they were not allowed to do.

Thanks for the number, I called them. I was advised to take it to a care centre, but it's 2 hours drive from me. I will hear what the manager has to say today first.

You're right, they didn't call me. So I went directly to their office at 16:30. The manager wasn't there, but the desk lady told me that my tablet was sent to Vodacom's head office where they will decide what's going to happen. Sigh, looks like I'm in for a long fight.

I hope you get a new tablet soon. I hate that they want to repair brand new phones/tablets. It should be replaced - no questions asked
