Hey guys

Just a quick question. If i find that some ram is faulty and i send it back to the company i bought it from online, how long is the usual wait to get it back?

Im asking beacuse im getting pretty impatient now. I sent this ram back on around the 6th of August ...

They usually send it off for testing after their initial tests. But for something like ram, most shops I would think would just send you a new one within a week.

Have you given the shop a call?

Ive been e-mailing back and forth but im gona give them a call now...

Really, over a month for ram is just plain slack.

Ok...

After waiting this long the ram was sent to the wrong address..

They havent been able to get a response from the person the ram was accidently sent to, so they cant collect it.

So now they must order another ram stick for me....which is out of stock *facepalm*

What? Sounds a bit fishy... They have to make this a priority for you, I mean you've paid for a product and they've failed to deliver. I would ask them when they expect it to be delivered, and if its like 2 weeks I'd ask for a refund and go purchase the ram from a local PC store or another online retailer.

btw, would it be considered theft if you've received a product delivered to you by mistake and you make no attempt to return it? Couriers must've come up with a way to retrieve items delivered to a wrong address by now.

Name the store man. I don't wait that long for repair forget swap out.

Just so you know, usually a return within 7 days from when you received the merchandise is considered the time when hardware is swapped out without questions asked whereas any time after that it is usually repaired. For a repair I refuse to wait longer than 2 weeks before I sick the legal letters on them. For a swap out, excluding delivery time I refuse to wait longer than a day. In fact if they don't swap it out the same day I'm already annoyed. No test takes more than an hour and that is how long I am used to waiting. Online stores naturally I'll wait for the shipping there and back + 1 day. If they can't get the stock again I expect to be informed same day.

I've only ever had trouble with Sybaritic, regarding returns, every other retailer, online or otherwise has met my above requirements so far.

They said that this order has just been a comedy of errors and he did apologise.

He said that this is the first time this has happened in the past 6 months too.

If all else fails they gona send me 2 new ram sticks, and when it arrives here then ill send the one i have remaining here with me back so i have 2 new ram sticks of the same make.

Its with Prophecy which i know are usually very good. Guess im just unlucky. Ive bought a monitor which had to go back and be replaced, a PC which had a dead motherboard and now faulty ram:(...sheesh. I need a lucky rabbits foot or something

PS, the fan on my HD4850 also went and had to buy an aftermarket fan to replace it :(

Dont worry the fan on mine also died when I had it. Do you build your own PC's? You might not be discharging static before working with the components, hence the RAM and Mobo? Although I've neva had a problem with static and I build on bed :D

Lol, built my pc on the bed too the other day, hehe - I did move the big fluffy blanket away though :) PC works like a charm.
