I bought an Induction HOB from House and Home, Sale went smooth for it being a special order item.
Upon opening it I noticed and heard lose screws inside and contacted them immedietly and returned the product.

Defy now refuses to replace the new HOB citing it was a special oreder item.

Is there any action I can take with DEFY because I find this completely unacceptable!

Thanks.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a "special order item" in particular from Defy?

OP states Induction HOB unlessed I mistyped something.

Special order item is somethiing that a shop does not sell but can order because he /she is registered with the supplier.

Oh, I see. I thought it was some custom built HOB of sorts.

Thanks

So its brand new?

Then tell House and Home to refund you the money and buy a better make than Defy.

Bathroom Bizarre tried the "special order' thing when they ordered a tap from the supplier for me and it didn't fit. I went straight to HansGrohe and they authorised a refund.

Well I want it and it is the only shop here that can get it for me. Im not going to drive 400+ Km to buy another brand.
aslo had a look online and not much of a variety.

You said you returned it, did they refund you? Or are they refusing to take it back?

We are trying to exchange it. Defy seems to not honor their Warrenty and guarantee. Unless It is guaranteed not to work out of the box.
