Not sure where to post this, thought PC Hardware is appropriate.

So I've been using a Belkin wireless router with my iburst for the past ~year, with little hassle except it doesn't have detachable aerials. A mate gave a Trendnet N spec, which yesterday when I got wimax i thought I'd use.

As the connection is PPPoE, I was a bit surprised I couldn't get it to work, I then fished out a Linksys with DD-WRT on it, and again i couldn't get it to work, yet bypassing the router and using my PC to connect worked 100%.

After ~2 hours I got fed up, took the Belkin and used it, and it worked 1st time.

So - does anyone have any ideas as to why i couldn't do a PPPoE connection on either the Linksys or Trendnet? Is it possible the WAN port is faulty (and just a huge coincidence its faulty on both??)?
