Fax machine without printer to be hooked up with a seperate printer. Does one still get it? Is it advisable?

56K Fax/Modem plugged into your PC, Windows Fax (depending on your OS version) can do the work.

You mean a dialup modem connected to a pc? Most Windows pc's have a fax option or you can obtain 3rd party software.

I wish fax would die, but yeah until that happens companies will use it even though it's likely the most costly form of one-way communication in this country.
