Cape Town - The country's youth organisations have joined the AfriForum's youth in condemning the singing of an old struggle song about "killing boers" by ANC Youth League (ANCYL) president Julius Malema.

The AfriForum Youth offices have been inundated with calls and e-mails from "frightened" and "angry" people since Malema was reported to have sung the song on different occasions recently.

"Many people are scared," AfrForum Youth national chairperson Ernst Roets told News24.

"One call we received yesterday, for example, was from a young lady who was crying. She said her parents, who were farmers, had been murdered recently and that she was next.

"Other people want to take matters into their own hands but we have been trying to calm them down," said Roets.

'Sensational'

The civil rights group youth leader said by taking Malema to court they were trying to prevent the song from being sung and also demonstrate how serious the matter was.

But ANCYL spokesperson Floyd Shivambu said it was not a "major issue" and that the AfriForum youth were being "stupid" and "sensational".

"Songs are sung in SA. The President (Jacob Zuma) sings about a machine gun. Have you ever seen anyone bring him a machine gun?"

He said they would find "a platform to educate" the AfriForum as their misinterpretation of the song was "sad".

Congress of the People youth spokesperson Sipho Nghona said it was unfortunate that Malema, who is notorious for his racial outbursts, would sing such as song when most South Africans were trying to move forward constructively.

"It demoralises them (white people). All their positive contributions and efforts go unnoticed.

Spirit of reconciliation

"It makes the situation hopeless. Back in the 90s there was a spirit of reconciliation and now, and this is from observation, people are starting to ask questions," said Nghona.

He said Malema's utterances, apart from giving the country a bad image, also encouraged a culture of violence amongst young South Africans, citing the rioting by school children outside the Protea Magistrate's Court where the case of hip-hop artist Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye was being heard as an example.

"Those children were threatening to kill him (Maarohanye) themselves if the court did not make a decision that they wanted," he said.

DA Youth's Khume Ramulifho encouraged young people not to follow the ANCYL's example.

"Let's rally around the idea of equal opportunity, do our best in our communities and work towards building one nation," he said.

It was characteristic of Malema to sing the "divisive" song, Ramulifho said, but added that he should be ignored.

The wheels slowly turns. JM will be the ANC's undoing. One day when they're the minority they will be shaking their heads saying eishhh where did we go wrong!
 
if they feel comfortable singing these songs at the World Cup then I suppose it will accomplish it's purpose. :D

Even if it cant be considered a threat, its surely incredibly insensitive to people like the girl mentioned in the news article above, who had both her parents killed in a farm attack?

I'm sure a song about killing Chris Hani wouldnt go down too well with the ANC
 
The problem is we have many many warning signs that malema is a racist **** like mugabe, we need to stop him coming to power before he pulls a mugabe :(

Maybe the boeremag need to reform and put a hit out on him before it's to late. The anc are called freedom fighters for blowing people up so we need some freedom fighters as well. It is scary the ANC back malema and does nothing to stop me believing he will destroy this country just as mugabe destroy zim.

Tell that to the millions of low intellect citizens that take his every word to heart, what else is there for them, life is not getting better, Apartheid is still blamed, not the massive theft and corruption of public funds by the Government, thaey do not have internet like us and then Malema "Suggests" to them to kill the boerjies (whites), what do you think they are going to do next?

I do not expect this to end anytime soon - one day we will have a nice little civil war in SA. Around June would be nice...

No dude the shyte is only going to hit the fan in the next election when malema forces his way to power. Is it possible for malema to become president at the next election?

I would advise people start making plan to move though, not be alarmist or anything just be realistic.
 
I wish Malema would say those words to a real BOER in his face. He is always hiding among the brainwashed anc youth league and protected by a couple of VIP bodyguards. Even 1 will give him a lekker Afrikaaner P03S KLAP! Only the youth of the country will be blamed should there be more killing among black and white (and rape of white woman by black men). If the youth believe the **** that comes out of this mental man, then they are totally wasted.

No man that has moral value will say the **** this mental malema say. No man can ever be above the Law, not even the president. The anc is anyway busy with some sort of secret way to depress all news that are going international.

Well this is what the ANC and their cronies do not realize and cannot grasp, what effect they have when they utter these chants, thus we have to assume it's deliberate or they are just too stupid!

When "Just Crime" is not crime anymore!

The list of crimes against "white" minorities, victims of murder and torture goes on.

Where is the media, other than the small column on the 3rd page of the newspaper? The national or international outcry? Where is the outcry from the government, or their leadership or lack there of to deal with these issues on a fair basis? Is it because you do not know? Do not care? Or is it because you know, and only care when it is not one of your own, yet only shout "racist" when it's a specific race? Are we so brain washed, politically correct that we are unable as human beings to treat things in a balanced way?
Or are we so indoctrinated by mass media, becoming sheep of "popular general opinion", or too scared, even lazy, to travel the lesser road of doing research and reaching out to people from other races? Maybe they have a point when they complain, yet are immediately silenced with the word "racist".

Show the world how the 'beloved' ANC rode on the back of Mandela-sympathy to get where they are today. How they are just as racist if not more than the system they opposed for so long.
ZA's been called a cleptocracy, tell it how it is, let sympathy for the ANC & what they've become dry up.
