I work as an IT Technician at a special school in Cape Town, yesterday I had a discussion with my boss, in regards to installing HD capable cable system capable of distributing the DStv signal via HDMI from the single HD decoder, that's set up in a dedicated room, to allow those who reside in the accommodation blocks to view DStv. This signal is currently sent through the legacy analog distribution system, which I want to keep in place, as this allows the accommodation blocks to watch FTA separately, as opposed to just having a single HD quality DStv channel. He requested that I provide him with costs, to get this done. The DStv decoder is connected via xtraview, to the principal's main decoder, who resides on the property, so there is no way the decoder can be moved. Since there is a single TV in each house, I would like to use Cat5e/6 cable to extend the HDMI signal, and use HDMI splitters when necessary. What I have found with the analog system, is that over a period of years, the quality of the signal even with boosters installed tends to deteriorate, so thousands have been spent on trying to keep the system in working order.
I would most likely look into using sites such as Aliexpress, to order what's needed, as I have found there components are sold at wholesale prices, however are extremely reliable. I have attached a photo of a layout, and where the different accommodation blocks are.
I would use something like this

and run the signal via Ethernet to each house.
I could also run a cable to one house, then use a splitter, and additional HDMI/ethernet extenders to then pass the signal to another house, then another splitter, and extender to pass it onto the last remaining house, however I'm well aware of the isues with HDCP, and I don't think that would be a good option.
