This forum has many haters of Cell C, while there seem to be a fair number of lovers too.

My 2 year experience was filled with hate due to the poor or non existent data speeds and throughput in the East London area. In the 2 years I did experience decent patches in JHB, PE and Cape Town but some parts of those cities also gave me the same poor experience as East London. I can only deduce that a major part of the Cell C data problem is either congested towers or faulty tower hardware.

Now that I am back on Vodacom, the biggest improvement has taken me by surprise in a big way: call clarity! I honestly cannot believe how clear voice calls are on Vodacom and it has shown me how bad they were on Cell C. I would actually strain to hear the other person on voice calls but this was the norm to me. Only now do I hear how a call should be experienced and how bad Cell C voice quality was. I am astounded by the change.

I could never go back. Data is not a biggie as I have become so used to carrying my Afrihost mifi wherever I go that I still do it now that I am on Vodacom. But as stated, the voice improvement is WOW!

Hopefully someone finds this of interest as there doesn't seem to be much chatter on myBB regarding poor Cell C voice clarity.

+1 Cell C's data throughput was non-existent and calls were horrible, if they even connected they'd more often than not drop.

*sob. What an inspired story. I only have 56 days to freedom. I can't wait!

The general quality of the Cell C network was quite horrific. I say 'was' as I left them in December. Not a moment too soon!

I don't use cell c for voice calls. Their data network is operational and stable compared to 2 years ago. I am on their 200Giga

Again, it depends on where you are. All the network improvement articles have mentioned Cell C and their massive improvements in Gauteng. Helps F all for everywhere else. The tower in my suburb on received back up power a month ago. Every darn load shedding slot meant no Cell C signal.

You forgot to add the missed call while your phone is on

Your experiences are the same as mine, left them in December last year and my life is a lot less stressful in that department. You pay a little on Vodacom but it is well worth the money.
