Hey guys,

Not sure if these videos have been posted before, but I just thought I'd share them. As most of you know, feral druids are probably one of the weakest class/specs for arena pvp in the game, and its frustrating as hell trying to succeed. The best I ever managed was just under 1900 in season 1, 1730ish in season 2, and I haven't even bothered pvp'ing on my druid in season 3.

The guys I learned from originally are still doing there thing, and are extremely good. The videos are part of 2 separate series, which themselves are just amazing to watch.

Deep, the US one, is a lot of fun to watch. His series is "Deep Feral" with Deep Feral 5 being the most recent version I'm aware of. http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=46101

Azgaz, the EU one, was the first feral druid I watched in a pvp video. His stuff is slightly out of date (season 1), but it's still good to watch. The series is called "Nerf Druids".

Figured I'd share my feral pvp heroes since Petruz was sharing his panzerkin hero.

Enjoy ;)

Trolling thru the hunter forums long enough and you'll find the 2v2 2400 ranked hunter + druid combo (season 3), now that vid is crazy!

ill go hunting for it later, and link it

Resto druid does not equal feral druid.
Resto druids are imba. Feral is gimp.

You get the occasional extreme;y capable person who is able to overcome the limitations inherent, and succeed. Gclol, for eg, was an ideal us resto shamans held up in the faint hopes we would be able to do well in arenas (before he got permabanned for stealing a guildbank lawl). At the end of the day though, resto shamans are simply the worst arena healers around, the fact that they currently have 0% representation at 2400+ ratings supports this.

Any spec/class can do reasonably well if they have a very skilled person playing it, but the fact that certain classes and specs are inherently better and easier to pvp with (ms warriors, resto druids) is not in dispute.

The main problem I find is that ferals just aren't viable in their "main" talent tree. Sure, I can switch out and cyclone, I can switch out and heal, but mana disappears way to fast. Most of the best feral 2v2/3v3 players have a weapon swap macro switching out their main staff for a light's justice (as an example) and a healing offhand.

There is just nothing a feral brings to the table that can't be brought by another class, or same class different spec with more ease of use. No hamstring/crippling, no MS, no fear/interrupt barring feral charge (which requires us to shift forms again), if you count maim you've obviously never played feral. :P To top it all off, we have a beautiful range bug, which Blizzard admits exists, but does nothing about.

Choosing a feral over another class in arena is like choosing a moonkin to tank. It's possible, but not very likely.

Currently I reckon that for the average joe soap noob like me, feral is just not viable in PvP. Bear just doesnt have the dps output and Cat is too squishy )This is with average starting out gear).

I find I do better playing full resto in a PvP situation than trying to kill an opponent via melee.

I've seen full resto (with enough points in balance to grab insect swarm) completely destroy opponents just by running around with hots, and shifting occasionally to toss a moonfire and refresh insect swarm.

Maybe with the nerfs to resto druids it will balance out slightly...who knows.

On the flip side I <3 Feral Tanks in PvE.
We did a quick SV Heroic the other night after a Raid with one of our good Feral Tanks. It's so cool to watch him tank 3 mobs at once and hold aggro.
Especially after grafting early 70 with CC in SV.

The range bug is one of the reasons i eventually abandoned my druid. Coupled with SA lag to the US, chasing some dude around for 15 minutes and not hitting him most of the time is just about the most frustrating thing in the world, especially without any slows like hamstring.

Feral needs a lot of work for pvp. Unf i doubt they will, as giving feral druids some kind of hamstring and mortal strike would make the spec the single best spec in the entire game for everything - uber pve tanks, uber pve dps AND uber arena capability.

The real problem all us hybrids have is that in order to spec into our PVP specs, we need entire new sets of gear. We have to work twice as hard for equipment as, for eg, a hunter or warlock.

i personly prefer ballance for pvp.
But since i am lvling feral and specing ballance every 9 lvls for bg i do pvp feral mostly world encounters and feral pvp is not all bad its hard but i find it fun use cat+bear and caster form to win dont foget your a shifter hybrid you need to use everything to win.O yeah but then again i am a noob so what do i know.Feral takes skill if you want to own in pvp i agree dude.

Thx for videos :)

Yup, I remember never having any bag space as I carried dps and tanking gear around where ever I went.

Atleast unlike warlocks and hunters, druids can have an extra bag just for gear. No extra bag for arrows/bullets/shards...

I'm a Feral tank hybrid (level 40 only) and I struggle to keep aggro on all mobs. How do you guys do it?

We get a nice threat abililty at around lvl 63, but the best you can do at 40 is pop demo roar, faerie fire, swipe/maul. Try pulling mobs with a moonfire, or a starfire/moonfire combo, then shift into bear.

Oh, and be sure to have the right talent points. Increased threat etc

If you really struggle ask party to let you go in first for first 4sec atleast for agro before they cast or attack .And use swipes to dmg and gain agro on at least 3 mobs then make sure you hit mob with skull mark on it the most and hit all others at least once.

If one breaks off for your healer charge it and taunt it too get it back.
Always watch out for your healer budie.

And lvl 40 you get dire bear form no waroir can tank like a bear at that lvl were op tanks.
I did Uldaman with waroir and priest from start to finish after the rest left it was imba fun :)
Dpsers can die but make sure healer is save so he can cast uninterupted.

With a few swipes theres no way i can lose agro on at least 5 mobs
ask them you go in first take leader just for agro mark your mobs you want cced always go in first.
We wiped on last boss 3 times but we learned from it.And got him.

Cool I'll keep that in mind, reaching 40 tonight :p

whats the skull mark?

Skullmark is the mob you mark for death first all must kill him before go for next one marked by skull from group leader.

Ask them to make you leader so you can mark wich should be sheeped and sapped and wich should be killed first this way your in charge .

I only let them sapand sheep if the instance has alot of caster mobs or if its really hard instance and its big group of mobs like 5-6
but that my own taste of tanking the more mobs i can have around me the better my dps i top meter more than once as bear tank can only be done if you got good healer if i have shadow priest i play safe.

Iff you really must healer goes oom try to get few mwter between you and mobs and inervate him
lol i have even battlerezed a healer with 6 mobs on my case and we survived because of it but becarefull dont get stunned in caster form then your dead.

I actually only recently started grinning when I solo'ed 3 level 38's when I was level 36. Usually get my ass kicked but *bear form* and swipe. Didn't know swipe was so effective :D

After lvl 40 youll be able to solo elite mobs with adds use you stun to get a opener to heal.
Remember theres no real feral weapons in orginal wow up to lvl 60 in Burning Crusade they did think of us druid i have to say before BC i never had trouble geting leather for ballance spec
