Essien: Chelsea will lead Premiership in days
tribalfooball.com - December 25, 2006

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien says they'll return to the Premiership leadership within a matter of "days".
He told the People: "We have a better team this season than last season.

"We have progressed and matured a lot and have learned to suffer but come back, and that is vital. We are much better than Manchester United. The difference in points in the Premiership is just a coincidence.

"It is just a matter of days before we are the leaders.

"What will be very difficult for their morale is that they already thought they were champions a few weeks back. But I have done the calculations and we will finish at least five points clear of United at the top of the table.

lol....guess that was before todays games

It's more the other way round. United I think is really happy they're top of the league and wouldn't have seen that at the beginning of the season. Chelsea thought they won the league before it even started back in August and I bet it's very bitter pill to swallow now...

Essien can do calculations heh? Maybe he can just count today the United are 4 points ahead!

Another goal for Gilberto and another for Van Persie.. :) Gilberto is playing great atm.. always seems to be on top of things..

Ok now that the cricket is over, it's time to keep track of the last round of games for the year. Fulham must park bus in front of their goal and keep the russian mafias at bay.

Go United!

ok Fulham didn't listen to me...they want Chelsea to park the bus in front of their own goals...hehe...Chelsea 0 - 1 Fulham...

yeah :( bad game...

we played badly... the team last night wasnt the strongest... but then again they played against a bunch of $%#, and on mud..

but hopefully gallas, henry, eboue, lauren, abou diaby, walcott, adebayor, freddie are back in jan.... :)

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho unleashed a brutal assessment of his side's problems after watching them drop two home points at Stamford Bridge for the second time in four days in a 2-2 draw against west London neighbours Fulham. 'Maybe we are not as good as we think,' a frustrated Mourinho said after the match

Damn. Straight.

maybe mourinho isnt as good as he thinks :P
money makes chelsea, not its manager, unlike arsenal/utd/liverpool... mourinho aint no wenger or fergie

Make no mistake, Mourinho is a good manager. He did win the Champs league with a moderate side and the treble that year as well...He's just too arrogant and think he's the greatest in football and this will be the downfall of Chelsea. At the same time, Chelsea has almost 2 players per position and no idea why they can't score goals.

He even said it might be himself that's the problem..hahahahaha..he's right. And def Chelsea is about the money and not about the actual build up of a football team. Liverpool, ManU and Arsenal all buy players but don't spend so much. The team matures and trophies are won. Those teams have culture...Chelsea have money. Look at SWP...so much money and he's not even in the first team.

Mourinho admits unhappiness inside Chelsea dressing room
tribalfooball.com - December 31, 2006

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has hinted at unhappiness inside the dressing room as his team struggles to keep pace with Premiership leaders Manchester United.

He candidly admitted: "Maybe we are not so good as we think.

"Maybe I am not such a good manager, maybe the players are not such good players.

"We cannot defend, we concede incredible goals and in attack we have one player in Drogba.

"Two things irritate me and both are a little bit out of my hands.

"One is injured players. You know, what can you do? That's football and sometimes it happens to other teams, sometimes happens to your team.

"But to have, at the same time, so many injuries to important players is something you cannot control.

"And the other thing you cannot control too is that some of the players, sometimes in a quiet way, sometimes in a more noisy way, complain when they are not playing.

"And when they do, they don't play at the level they should do."

:)

Liverpool 3 - 0 Bolton

Another bicycle kick from the Bean Pole. I hope we've learned our lesson. Don't put the ball on his head but rather two meters behind him :D

Newcastle 2 - 2 Man Utd

Oops, how'd you manage that?
