Ther are 2 things that could happen. If south africa dont apply for their services. it would mean we would force them into a position to lower their service otherwise they wont make any money and they would therfore dig into there coffers, until one day they have no money left and definitly drop the prices. Or by not buying there services, and actually putting them out of business leaving us with only telkom agian. And telkom saying there will be an 88% price increase due to Oil prices. inflation, so called economy, or what ever.
I for one will not be buying ANY NEOTEL SERVICE untill it atleast matches the same standards as overseas internet. I dont mind if it is slightly higher in price but not tripple the amount if qaudruppled. If overseas can provide cheap internet for their customers in their own country, there is no reason why neotel or telkom that can say they have to pay alot of money for bandwidth, because this bandwidth would also be offerd at a nice price for them. And the rand pound dollar or what ever has nothing to do with it, cause its suppose to work out the same or just minor adjustments.
I am also like most people here. who was so excited about neotel coming and was more than happy to jump on board, but now that i am older, (cause its been so many years for them to come out) i can see what its all about. Everybody hates telkom we all know that, but it sort of gets what we need for now. Everybody wanted neotel and thats why some people say dont complain, because they scared of losing something they think is good, wich is good i must be honust. But it is not good right now. I dont mean to be mean or anything, but come on there is an indian dude running the place. He gonna run neotel like a corner shop. markup 20% discount 15%. Business people will take all the money they can get. Dont be stupid, spend your money on something thats actually worth it. and not give in to someone who just wants your money. R 999 is not worth it, EVERY MONTH. some children who want to play online games will never have there parents paying for something like that. But if it was R150 i bet they be doing chores around the house making up that money to get it. So you take something that someone could never buy gives you nothing, and then take i dont know 5 million kids who want to play online and now can spend R150 ( with some getting it as pocket money under the age of 15) compared to R 999. And maybe add on another 5 million between the ages of 15 and 20, and so forth. 7 million 20-25, the more people can afford , the more people will be able to buy you can get 1 million people that can buy it for R 999. and you can get 10 million people who can buy it for R200, having it at R 200 makes double the amount but more work involved
