Fiat Strada whats your thoughts about it?

I am thinking of buying a secondhand Fiat Strada 2009-2010 model, cant seem to find any comprehensive reviews on it.
i need opinions of some that has one or just know it. thanks
 
One of the better half toners. Since they axed the corsa utility and replaced it with that rubbish chev. It's a good option. Depends what you use it for.

Got it second had in 2009. I've replaced the clutch kit and brake pads since I've had it.
Not too expensive to run. Not too bad on fuel, mine is a 1400.
 
I have one (the X-space) which I use daily.
Overall it is an OK bakkie, quite fuel efficient and can handle a heavy load (compared to a similar Corsa) due to quite stiff suspension - this also makes the ride a bit hard.
Build quality is where it looses points but I suppose it's to be expected due to it's lowish price.

Having said that, I will hop into it at any time and drive from JHB to Cape Town without worrying about breaking down.
 
That was my first car and I hated it. I actually wanted a Corsa utility but somehow ended up with the Strada. I just hated the car . And Fiat didnt make it easier with their expensive and poor service. I had to replace a safety belt and waited for it for months it never arrived, during this time I was driving without a safety belt. ended up getting an old Uno safety belt at the scrap yard. I was a bad experience overall, ooh and the hooter broke and I replced it about 3/4 times. I bought it brand new but I never enjoyed it. Since that day I told myself I'll never drive an Alfa Romeo nor Fiat.

Seems like we all have different experiences with different cars. I had a Golf 5 2.0 that I drove to 290 000 km with no problems while others are complaining about VW and on the other hand I sold my Strada at 49 000km because of bad experiences and I never enjoyed the ride.
 
They are decent bakkies. I drive a Fiat Palio, the car which the Strada is based on, it's perfectly fine, but it is built on the cheap. The finishes are not great. That said, mine is mechanically sound, and still going more than 12 years since it left the showroom. My biggest issue is the time that it takes to get new parts, costs are not as bad as some would have you believe.

That Strada is discontinued, so you could face a wait for parts too. The new Stradas are great, but sadly they won't be coming to SA.
 
The Strada bakkie is no longer available.
This will do damage to used value. (Not that it had much value in the first place!)
 
I had a 1.7 Diesel for 3 years. Also second hand. Light on juice and a dream to drive. Just wished the previous owner looked after it better.
 
just want to ask if someone knows - can I buy a 1600 palio motor and put it in my 1,2 fiat strada? does it have same mountings?
 
Hi guys I got me a Fiat Strada 1.4 the injector light stays on and I don’t have acceleration,I put it on diagnostics, it picked up throttle body,so I replaced wit a brand new one, still no joy, the diagnostic pics up accelerator paddle, replaced that ,still nothing, the injector light will not go off. And I can’t drive the bakkie because there is no acceleration, anyone who can help.
