Hi Guys,

Looking at business fiber for my company. Now i want to understand who are the network providers and who are the isps.It seems all abit confusing with all these players in the market.Example .. i see names like vumatel , fibernet123, easi telecom.Who's piggy backing off who and who are the 1st tier providers. In the good old days it was simple , telkom owned the infrastucture and everybody piggybacked off them as an ISP.I'm looking for business class fiber with low contention ratios , guaranteed uptime and static ips.

Vumatel for instance has their own infrastructure.

But I must agree, fiber is a bit confusing and difficult to keep track of who has their own fiber in the ground and who is just reselling on someone else's network.

Check on Dark Fiber Afirca's website if you have coverage nearby. Our office is running on their network with Cool Ideas as the ISP.

1:1 Contention, 100mbps symmetrical pipe, 99.99% SLA @ R30k give or take.

If your business is in a commercial building or park, then Vumatel generally wont offer you services, they are also best effort as things stand. For SLA's etc you can opt for DFA, Telkom MetroE or Neotel services generally. Drop me a mail with your address and I can send you some pricing: paul at cisp.co.za
