Anyone think this is a) possible and b) feasible?

I'd like to contact all the people in my road - 11th Ave, Parktown North and find out who would be keen in sharing a fibre optic connection.

I'd then arrange with one of the ISPs to have box etc installed at the cnr of 11th and 1st Ave east as I know fibre runs there and then we share the cost of running it up the road?

I know it'll be expensive but far more likely and affordable if were to share the installation fees?

Any thoughts?

if I were your neighbor, I will be interested ONLY if you come with some pricing...

very good idea but i agree with webtailor, if you bring me pricing and show how i can benefit from it then i'd consider it.

It definitely can be done, just make sure you follow the rules, if they find you dug trenches for the cable illegally your in for a bad time. Whether is is cost effective, I'm not sure about that.
