Hi @AfriNatic

My fibre is setup and wifi router delivered. Now regarding activation:

My current internet contract is only ending this month so I'd prefer to only start paying for fibre from 1 august. However is it possible to test the connection before activation? Iron out the kinks and avoid being left without internet.

If I go to activate.afrihost.co.za using the fibre connection will I automatically start paying or will I be able to select a start date?

Okay so pro rata billing starts as soon as the installation is complete. Openserve marks the install complete as soon as the contractor leaves the premises and we get billed for the line meaning we start billing too.

With Openserve authentication is via PPPoE so activate.afrihost.com is not applicable to your line instead you can find your pppoe details in clientzone. In the router set it to PPPoE connection mode and enter the username and password there.

This is unfortunate. I received some mixed messages from your callcentre in this regard, including "The line will be installed by then" (before month end) "and we'll only have to activate once the LTE cancels or as soon as the line installed." (I was with axxess mtn lte).

I get that openserve bills you and you have to bill the client. However if this was clearer during sign up I probably would have waited till mid-month.

I just got my pro rata invoice.
