well its good for its price for what it is as in the sense of after hours only unshaped.

tested it this morning to see how the performance is on weekends and in wow i generally had 350ms with low of 280 and peak of 400. (bladefist, IF)

still see how this does tomorrow and obviously during the week. Apart from that general tracert comparison of IS FIBER vs Saix vs Verizon and lastly shaped - i'll post later on
...

you have to understand that IS Fiber and rest of unshaped connects via the same Sat3 to the outside world.

thx ppl:) ill be keeping an eye out for that post thx :)

HG:L for todays testing, tomorrow after hours some GW :)

12:21am sun 13 april 2008
hellgate london - europe server: monument station

Fiber IS - unshaped
350ms -> 400ms

Saix - unshaped
218ms -> 382ms

Verizon - unshaped
235ms -> 382ms

Guild wars (nightfall)
6:16pm-ish Mon 14 april 2008 frozen Isle,

IS Fiber unshaped
low 219ms, average 338ms, 420ms peak

Saix unshaped
low 235ms, average 344ms, 455ms peak

Saix unshaped
low 282ms, average 360ms, 485ms peak

Note:
by no means are game latencies the uber method as it has allot of factors influencing it such, but i would guess that you have to tryout a few unshaped options to see which one wich best to your location, dslam, route etc etc.

IS fibre not bad. Get mine from B2E. www.b2e.co.za

To US after hours getting just over 210ms average

naa they are R4 more expensive ;)

as i said this is good if you only need after hours unshaped, but its still route dependent from where you are and different unshaped packages will yield different results.

I have the 5gig IS Fibre from Openweb for this month. I'm about 200ms to the good on my previous crappy mweb option. It's also cheap. It's been good for me. To worldofwarcraft EU server i'm on about 400-500ms.

On the OpenWeb website, where it shows the prices for the different 'ISF' options, does the price there include the line and gigs etc? I'm not so worried about gaming, but the prices seen quite good. What is the download speed?

Those are just the data/gigs cost. Speed is dependant on your ADSL line.

:confused::confused::confused:

:Dcan some1 plz tell me what this means .. lol dnt be mean plz

Shaping is when they make web and voice traffic prioritized over, for instance, torrents and gaming. In unshaped accounts they don't do this, all traffic is equal. Most accounts are shaped, as unshaped is very expensive.
