My friend is on Telkom's fibre and has been without internet for 10 days and counting... she was told by telkom tech support to bring her router in as it's not configured properly...

She plugs it in at the shop and it works perfectly... the techie resets the router to defaults and it works again... he's now setup a telkom guest account and told her to take the modem home and let them know if it works now...

Uhm... aren't guest accounts and all that in the ADSL domain? Fibre just works...

telkom fibre works on ipc same as adsl so you can use other accounts, ie: get a capped account from isp b and put in pppoe details, great advantage of telkom fibre when isp is stuffing around you can just change login to another to test if it's isp or last mile problem.
