How deep are your pockets?
Fibre is piss expensive in SA.
Here's Neotel's pricing for fibre per month:
1Mbps R1 600
2Mbps R3 050
5Mbps R5 100
10Mbps R8 200
15Mbps R11 250

what are their contention ratios? do you know? i used to be a client of theirs but their contention was a bit to high and that is why i moved away, that is whats so nice about CipherWave's deal, the contention is only 1:4?

I got a quote from VOX Fiber, for 1.5Mbps R14 000
That is hilariously pricy:wtf:

You going just to have to shop around get pricing then ask about the different suppliers and their service.

We're using 10Mbps Neotel Fibre at my office and our transfer speeds and latencies are great. Unfortunately they are messing about with their network infrastructure quite frequently without notifying us about the impact.
Like now our SIP (VoIP) service is down for our office, so we're without any incoming & outgoing calls!

Our fibre pricing for a 5Mbps line starts at only R8840*excl. and like you said, you get a contention of 1:4. the installation is also free of charge so you save a lot of money there. you can contact me on 0726747749 and i can give you our different pricing on fibre as well as our other services that we offer like Hosted Exchange, Hosted SharePoint, Hosted Lync and Hosted Dynamic CRM. we also do off-site data storage(CipherArchive). would you be interested in any of these products?

Thanks 0j, but we're OK again.
Neotel did some maintenance in the area last night and it has some side effects they weren't aware of I suppose. They took a few hours to fix the issue though, but at least it was done before the end of the business day - unlike some of the other issues we had in the past.
