Fibre cable being laid in Pta?

Can someone please confirm that these cuts being made in the roads all over Pretoria are indeed fibre cables being laid? Thin little grooves being sliced on the side of many roads.

And who is responsible for this if it is indeed fibre and who is going to benefit from this?

Had the same thing here in Jhb a while back. I was told that it was Neotel doing their rollout. Don't know if there is any truth in that...

The fibre cable laid in my area up to Saturday using same method was Vodacom.I spoke to the people laying the cable.Job was done to efficiently for Telkom.

Said narrow slits though are really no fun to motorcyclists. In fact, some are pretty hair raising!
