Hi
Following instructions
I am interested in the different ways the fibre that enters your premises is terminated ?
From the little I have been able to gather
In most cases in residential ( home ) connections , the fibre is terminated in some sort of a "box" to which is then attached a router via an RJ45 "WAN" port ?
Am I correct so far ?
Can the fibre drop be terminated DIRECTLY ?
ie
Fibre with "plugs" ( termination connectors ) plugged straight into eg a layer three switch
or
Router with an SFP EHWIC ( or similar Fibre termination equipment )
I would imagine this type of setup is more likely used in a corporate / business setting ?
Anyone know the technical detail of Fibre connection and termination as well as the different possible options ?
