So I am very excited.

Finally, after months of convincing my dam HOA i can report that Vodacom will be installing Fibre in my estate..

Telkom can go lick a dead donkeys twinkle... :-)

No costs for install, they will install a router at my house and everything..

Now, before everyone gets negative, please allow me 24 hours to swim in this moment.

Anyone on vodacom fibre?
 
Which package are you choosing? I find the caps are really low. They also lock the router completely which is not good.
 
Hi anyone got Vodacom installed yet? They approached us will the vodacom exclusivity deal, but not sure if we should wait for an open access network, or even after going with Vodacom, we can still get other ISPs?
 
Update on the Fibre front - Seems Openserve are busy with installing fibre cable down the whole of Hole-in-One Avenue in Ruimsig.


Not sure what the waiting period will be from laying the cable to being available to the public.
 
I am at the C/O Van Dalen & Van Der Kloof Street and I cant find anyone who offers FTTH here. According to the Dark Fiber Africa coverage map, their cable runs right past our complex.
 
Does anyone have fiber in Ruimsig? I am on the other side of Hendrick Potgieter and there is absolutely no fiber available...
 
Vumatel in Amarosa, Ruimsig

I have just gotten fantastic news. Vumatel is currently trying to qualify Amarosa for Fiber install but they need more people to register interest on their website.



If you guys are staying in Amarosa on the West Rand, please show interest in Fiber on their website. Let's get super fast internet in our area and show useless Telkom that there are better service providers out there!!

Update from my side - our estate is now fibre connected, they installed 2 rings around our estate, 1 for our cameras and 1 for vodacom.

Hopefully this will be active by the end of January 2018.
