I have Openserve and vumatel(not sure they reached the complex I stay in, but they're up the road) in my area, and I have been looking at various options for fibre, but none make sense to me.
Currently I have a 4mb ADSL line with a R99 50Gb+50Gb data cap from afrihost. I pay in total R605.00/month. I use perhaps 250Gb in total per month, but most of that happens in the freetime period, and I have plenty of data roll-over. Uncapped makes no sense to me, as I'd rather have full speed whenever I want it.
I'm looking for a similar capped deal in fibre, though I don't mind if the freetime is shorter - (my Steam updates run fine in 6hrs). Best bet seems Axxess(R619, 8mbs), but I'm worried about their network. I am looking to ditch afrihost as there is a network issue between them and Mweb which means I cannot remote into the office, and neither side can help. While it may not be afrihost's fault, I can't have my wifi blocking my emails.
If Axxess is on the same network, I'd probably have the same issue. None of the other fibre ISPs seem to have free time.
The pros of fibre to me are - less worrying about lightning and a faster speed.
If there is no suitable solution, I might just stick with the ADSL, I don't see any point in paying much more than I am right now.
