Fibre networks in total grid collpase

With insurance companies adding clauses on grid collapse it seems the probability of a national blackout is no longer neglible.

Im wondering whether fibre networks would still work in such a case provided that you can power the router on your side?
 
Maybe for 8-12 hours.

I guess there will still be core routing due to datacentres running on diesel, but they'll be out of supply within days with no hope of restocking.
