So I have a few noob fibre questions as I am moving to a Fibre enabled neighbourhood on Friday.

1. How do I know who laid the fibre infrastructure?

2. Does the ISP you can choose, depend on who laid the infrastructure?

3. Does fibre get billed with line speed (infrastructure people) and data (like Vox) separately or just one isp that does both and bills for both in one amount?

I see in the neighbourhood I am moving to (Universitas-Ridge in Bloemfontein), ONLY Vox posters are put up advertising Fibre, but I would prefer not to use them as they only allow payments via debit order, and I prefer to pay via EFT or cash (like with Telkom at PNPs).

1. ask your new neighbours?
2. Yes
3. Depends on the provider and ISP. Vumatel it's an all-in-one bill from the ISP only.

1. That depends, best bet is to ask around. But you can also check outside, VUMA has got their name on their manholes.

2. Yes, very much so. In the same breath is should also be mentioned than unlike ADSL, most fibre providers does not have the option for you to be with 2 ISP's at the same time.

3. I believe that depends on the fibre provider again. I know on VUMA you pay your ISP, and that is it. only thing I paid to VUMA was the once off installation charge, for getting the fibre into my house.
