Fibre Options Port Elizabeth

Hi, trying to help an elderly non technical widow who lives in the block, Great Bandle next to Beach Hotel on Marine Drive Summerstrand.
She currently has Mweb ADSL and has been told that she must migrate to fibre ASAP.
Anyone in that vicinity who can offer some advice which I can pass on?

I had a look and it looks like Marine drive is covered by 3 different FNO's (Fibre Network Owner/Operator) - Openserve, Metro Fibre and Vuma. I personally would say vuma would be a better choice, but I assume she's not very bandwidth intensive so i would definitely say go for the 10/5 option with openserve for R399. (If she's wanting to stay on MWEB)

This is the latest news. She managed to contact Mweb and Frogfoot will be installing in the next few weeks. The frustrating part is that Mweb consultants had to be advised by her that they had a few customers in the bulding. Being slightly deaf does not help as the consultants gabble on from their script even when asked to speak slowly. If youre listening Mweb ask them to slow down when requested and keep your fibre coverage up to date.

Frogfoot has no redundancy.

If there's a bump then you're either without internet, or sitting with 50-80% packetloss.

I suggest the occupants move. I'd rather tether to my old Nokia phone on cell C edge than use a frogfoot connection.

Bandle is part of the Blitz Fibre now Frogfoot, the Summerstrand node has no backup power and has congestion (way before pe had congestion)

But in all honesty being an elderly non technical person, she wont notice the congestion too bad if she is coming from adsl, and I am sure she does not have a full inverter setup for load shedding
