Just a newbie question...If I am paying for a 100meg FTTH service, why is the average Speed test results between 30 and 50megs max. Usage is mostly 2x UHD tv's running YouTube and Netflix...And the SP is Cool Ideas. Thing is, with a UHD tv it is quite easy to see when the signal is poor and when it is great...seems like a rip off price wise

I wouldn't use WiFi for the speed tests. Unless if you are connected to a proper Access Point. but even that is shaky. Best to use cables.

Test with a cabled device, wireless is often the bottleneck.

Junior for a reason i see, do the test with LAN otherwise buy proper Access points which are more than R1k then you might see your true speeds. Go with Unifi AC range its tops

This couldn't be more correct.

Even with 5GHz and full signal, you can get 300MBps with common router brands, and in some areas, 1GBps is now possible.

My current wifi connection, and I still get better speedtest results when wired.

His TVs might not support 5Ghz or AC wireless, so would be a waste for him. I know my 4K Samsung doesn't.

As everyone else has said, a wired connection would be best.
