Can anyone tell me how i get the password for my new fibre connection. My fibre line was installed yesterday by vumatel. I am with afrihost. But apparently they don't offer weekend support. What kind of shitty isp leaves people without internet for an entire weekend? Anyway when trying to setup the pppoe connection i am asked for a username and password. I have the username but not the password.

Usually they email it to you.
In the clientzone there is a reset password option (at least on the OpenServe network), Connectivity > Account > Access details > reset password

As far as I know you shouldn't need a Username and password for PPPoE with Vumatel. - https://answers.afrihost.com/9924/i-have-fibre-installed-what-happens-now

Depends on what Vumatel network, they acquired aerial/fibrehoods as well I think.
Vumatel trenched does not need a password as you set the wan to dhcp instead of pppoe. Vumatel aerial is pppoe and needs a password.
Thank you. Afrihost eventually called me and let me know that i shouldn't choose pppoe. They could definitely do with better configuration instructions on their website. But once i did manage to speak to technician he was great and knew exactly what needed to be done.
