Will month to month fibre pricing automatically be adjusted now that Vumatel also reduced it’s prices? I’m with Afrihost and pay R946 for 20 meg up and down through Vumatel.

In the past it always auto adjusted for me with Afrihost and Vumatel as well. Will double check my bill though in client zone.

why do i honestly care about the upload speed? 100mbps is MORE than enough for an upload, I'm not sending people 500TB files. A normal human uses about 1% upload and 99% download, hence why they structure it like that. Mine isn't a promo, I've had it the whole year. In Joburg I had Rain 5g and it was fantastic, 400mps, down on the coast they don't offer Rain 5g so I chose fibre, and yes vumatel, I don't care about the company as long as it works.

Just because you think 100mbps is enough upload speed doesn't mean it's enough for everybody. Sure you are right that most people wont use more than a 100mbps upload, but I can assure you 200, 500 and 1000 Mbps upload will change a lot for those who need it.

If you ever work with video, editing or even website development. Uploading assets, raw files or even just want to backup your systems. It's a night and day difference. Not to mention there are cheap backup solutions now which can use proper 500+ Mbps backups. There are so many use cases for upload speed, even just overall network health.

With regards to you, 1000/100 is probably fine, but gigabit 100 is terribly skewed for how fibre is really especially since it's a whole 1000 Mbps download, 1000/200 should have been the minimum. With 500/100 being an option

Many people who work from home and have to transfer large files care (myself included). I often have a few multiple gigabyte files that I have to upload and having to wait less for those to complete can have a significant effect on my productivity for the day. It's true though that for average consumers who only watch Netflix and Facebook that upload speed isn't that important.
