It looks to me like they have a severe personnel shortage so everybody is pitching in where they can. They haven't responded to facebook posts for two days now and don't respond to people's emails as well.
 
According to a DFA source these companies are first testing the market and when the need exceeds the cost thats when they offer their services

I don't think you need a DFA source to see this ;) They want zero risk.


Anyway, this thread has devolved into a youtube-esk comment fight with irrelevant points. Trying to convince someone on the internet is like trying to squeeze blood from a stone - eventually that's your blood ;) (and I probably can't convince you of this which gets us back into the endless loop and I like my blood).

IF 123Net ever gets back to us, maybe then the thread can get back on track. Until then :whistle: enjoy ;)

Lol, great post. I have to say though, I feel really mislead by 123net. Hey look that kinda rhymes. They deserve a bunch of 1 star ratings on their Facebook page
 
Judging by the decline of activity in this thread, I'd say a lot of people have given up hope on this.
 
I'm just disappointed by their lack of communication.
 
Can anyone that received a contract but havent returned it say whether you have been contacted by 123net in an attempt to get your contract signed.

You know, this has really taught me something as well. NEVER leave anything to a company or they WILL **** it up.

What we should have done is this:
1. Set up a site where people can enter their details. Easier to keep track of who registered then.
2. Get people's email address. This is the easiest way to capture someone in the system. People also don't want to enter many details for a first time conversion.
3. Get and keep people's attention with periodic emails thereby getting them interested and excited about the project so that they register their details.
4. Enter people's details into the database when enough people have registered.

I wonder if it's too late to do something like this. If 123Net can't handle this they should give us the details of people who registered so we can handle it ourselves.

True doing sign-ups on our own is ideal .

It seems like even those who are starting their FTTH initiative are adding the numbers to most of us whom choose a service provider to do the sign-up consolidation on our behalf.

I don't think 123net will divulge details of those who registered plus POPI Act does not allow them.
 
Every one I know that signed up in Secunda sent their contracts back. So what is the officail number dear 123net rep?
 
Any one in secunda have a 20meg line or have fallout 4 installed? Downloading the game on my 2meg line is going to take a lifetime.
 
The dvd does not contain the full installation. Apparently there is a 20gb dl after installing the game from the disc. So not pirating it, just dont want to wait till next week to play ;)

Well there are ways around that. I presume any employee can have access to such information. Doesn't have to be a full time position. Can be 1 hour per week at minimum wage. Would be like appointing a contractor.

I don't know why they won't follow the route of Octotel paying and giving incentives to fibre champions. If it's contracts they want there are ways to get them. They just need to be open about their requirements and work with communities to achieve it rather than everyone doing their own thing. That's how fibre gets installed.
