HI GUYS.

NEED SOME HELP WITH SOMETHING AND CAN'T FIND A ANSWER ONLINE.

I USED TO BE ON A 100/100 WITH TECH5 AND THAT WORKED FINE NEVER HAVE ANY ISSUES AND DECIDED TO GO HIGHER, I'VE NOW UPGRADED TO THE 200/200 AND IT KICKED IN THIS MORNING.

WHEN I DO A SPEED TEST I'M GETTING THE CORRECT 199MBPS UP AND DOWN BUT WHEN I DO A DOWNLOAD I'M ONLY GETTING 12MB/S. NOW FIRST THOUGHT THIS WAS SERVER RELATED SO TESTED ON VARIOUS DEVICES CONNECTED WITH WIFI AND CAT6 LAN AND VARIOUS WEBSITE AND STILL THE SAME.

AM I MISSING SOMETHING MAYBE?

YEAH. FIRST, LEARN HOW TO USE A KEYBOARD

I guess you have a fast ethernet switch somewhere

Sorry first time writing something here and didn't know how to switch off caps, apologies if I offended you by that.

I know how frustrating this can be...

I assume you are getting 200Megabits/second (Mbps) on speedtest and 12 Megabytes/second (MBps) when downloading, which is +-100Mbps.

I had a similar issue, where I was getting 100Mbps on speedtest, but downloads were 10Mbps. After hours/days of troubleshooting I finally figured out it was some LAN management software (part of my motherboard software) that was "managing" my traffic. My issue was limmited to one device, which made the troubleshooting a bit easier.. I'm just guessing, but can the router/modem be shaping your traffic somehow, since it's happening on all devices?

The interesting thing was that Mybroadband's speedtest was also reporting 10Mbps vs. Speedtest's 100Mbps - not sure why or how the software was managing those differently...

Run a speedtest on mybroadband and see what you get?

Good day, you are actually spot on with that, I've tried that speed test earlier and was getting the speeds that is also showing download. Mind nudging me in the direction you took to get passed that. Would be highly appreciated.

Well in my case I knew the traffic management was happening on my PC, so it was a bit easier to troubleshoot. What router/modem do you have?

With regards to the devices yes it's on all devices and have check modem, can't see any shaping at all with regards to modem and i have a dlink G2562DG

The only thing I can recommend is to check for any traffic management or QoS settings on your router and see if that makes a difference. (I've never used these settings before, so not sure if it can shape traffic in that way, but it's worth a shot to disable those and see what happens...) Otherwise, check with you ISP.

Checked that and also reset modem and still the same, might need to check with ISP and see what they say. Thanks alot for response appreciate the help.
