Hi..i am moving into a new suburb soon. There is only TT connect and openserve available..which is you option, if any.
Please assist me to male an informed choice.

Farrarmere, benoni

Thank you

Well TT Connect is much cheaper. Openserve is waaaaay more stable. There is a reason why Cool Ideas dropped ttconnect as a fibre ISP because they are that bad. Openserve so stable and good but probably the most expensive of the lot due to IPC. With Openserve you can also easily switch ISPs by just changing the usename and password of the ISP with TT you can't.

What speed are you looking at

Well, Vumatel are more expensive tbh, but point made.

@OP go OpenServe rather than TT Connect, you'll suffer less for it.

Thank you.

We are looking to go 40/20. Priority via Afrihost. We are 4 heavy users.

Looking at all the options. As much info as we cam get..

Yeah, TT is pretty much in the rubbish bin as far as i can tell

Ohh well if you are considering Afrihost you went from the rubbish bin to dumping site.... Afrihost has a nice network but on Openserve their FUP is just not worth it.

Would cool ideas offer Bette FUP?

They do not have a FUP at all. Afrihost priority does not but the price is insane to pay for a 40/20 rather look at other ISPs.

Websquad
Cool Ideas
Accelerit
Seacom FTTH
Active Fibre
BitCo
Cellc C-fibre
BeBroadband
Gigago
Aeonova360 (A360 Cloud)
Level-7
Cape Connect
RSAWeb
Tech 5
UNIWisp

All of these listed does not list any FUP. Prices vary so shop around a bit. Do research on the forum. When people complain about an ISP check which cable provider they are on. Complains on Cool Ideas for Frogfoot does not mean Cool Ideas on Openserve is bad.

Fibre there is so many options and ISPs out there.

This will probably be my recommendation

Openserve in a heartbeat.

(full disclosure I work in the industry and USED to work at TT)

For interests sake why don't you work there anymore, and what happened to TT, they went very very quiet... reason I ask is they were considering Bonaero Park but Vuma came in and finished the area but TT still have it on their website as under consideration.

im using Openserve and it's been a breeze. have 100/50 line and honestly it has NEVER been down. Using Vox as my isp and super happy

Okay well now that Afrihost has launched AFrihost Pure Fibre I would definitely recommend them on Openserve. No FUP or limits which is a 360 turn from their home fibre products that had atrocious fair use limits. They always had a decent network it was just the very bad FUP on Openserve that was really bad. Now that that is out of the way worth taking up their new deal so much value for money.

Not sure Afrihost is updating their fibre map fast enough - in our area they're showing only FrogF, but we are getting offers from other small ISPs (that dont even show up on Afrihost fibre portal) saying fibre is ready here. Also Openserve/Huawei are here in the street with fibre teams - but nothing shows on AFriH map for OpenServe.

And I dont see VOIP for Telkom porting analogue number to VOIP offered on Afrihost Fibre via Openserve. While other ISPs offering fibre here already offer it included in even their basic month-to-month fibre bundles.

I plan to dump Telkom for analogue line rental when switching to fibre - but I would want the old number available to use via my fibre package, as its way cheaper.

Would make sense to stay with AH provided they can offer the same or better than the other offerings being made already in our area. AH hasnt even sent me an SMS to say fibre is live here.

I started working at TT Connect in June. Would you like to let me know what you don't like about the company, and we can see whether your concerns are still valid?
