Fibre who to go with?

Hi there I'm looking to get some advise.

I initially ordered fibre with webafrica back in September. Gave up a few months later. I reordered in December and still nothing, oh and yes my area is covered and people already have fibre in my complex.

Is it me or is Webafricas service pretty shocking? I'm also still waiting for a refund from September.

Am I being unfair or anyone else you guys can recommend?

Looking for a 50-100mb line and 200-300gigs a month.

I am in the same boat at the moment, though much earlier on in the process. I placed my order on Tuesday, but haven't received any further updates. I followed up with them and their response is "Waiting on Telkom".

You definitely not being unfair and I'm so sorry for the way your order is being handled . Our Fibre team should have provided you with feedback already and I need to find out why this has not happened.

I know you're fed up already with the service and rightly so, but if you could PM me your email address or any other account details I will investigate this for you.

We unfortunately need to wait for Telkom to provide us with a date for installation which can take anything from 2 - 8 weeks. We know this is not the best but we have to rely on Telkom if it is their Fibre. Our other providers line Vumatel, Octatel and Fibrehoods are much faster.

As soon as we get the date from them we will get touch with you. You can PM your account details as well so I can also follow up on your behalf.

I'm in the same boat now, I have been waiting for more than four weeks. Every time I ask for an update, Web Africa tell me there is a backlog and there is nothing they can do, I just have to wait. The consultant I spoke to yesterday said I may even have to wait for 2.5 months for an installation. I haven't even been able to get my Telkom order number out of them, the one provided previously is incorrect according to another consultant at Web Africa and Telkom are unable to find it on any of their systems.

ISPAfrika claim 1 to 3 weeks to complete the installation. Another member from this forum has already cancelled the Web Africa order and has kicked off the ISPAfrica order. I'm waiting to see if that comes to light and if it does I'll probably do the same. As a side note, this user received a trackable Telkom order reference from ISPAfrika within 30 min of placing the order.

To make matters worse Telkom called me recently to offer me fibre from them and I turned it down because I had this pending order with webafrica.

I have my Telkom order reference. Have been waiting 10 weeks no and no sign of anything.

Install scheduled for Saturday 13th Feb. Just over 1 week since I lodged the application with ISPAfrica.
