FICA and debt collection

So you are afraid people whom you owe money to will have access to your details?

Well, yes. We liaise via phone and email, and that is good enough. I pay back what we agreed upon, but like I said, some months are tough and I have to make a decision between paying a full installment for already heavily inflated debt (thanks to the lawyers), or buying medicine for a sick family member or whatever the need is.

Well if you owed me money, I think knowing where you live and being able to knock on your door to get MY money is not too much to ask?

This is exactly why I shouldn't post on this forum. If you are fortunate enough to have a crap load of money all the time and you are debt free, then congratulations. If you don't understand what it feels like to have make a decision month after month between paying off a debt or buying bread for your family, then rather don't say anything, ok?

You have no idea what my background is, how can you even make a comment like that? I didn't want this. Clearly you were born with a silver spoon up your ass. Die wiel draai ou pel. I hope you remember this when you feel financial strain one day.

Back on topic - from what I recall of your original post you're going to have to provide proof of address to ABSA to satisfy FICA requirements otherwise they'll suspend your account. I don't know whether or not debt collection agencies have access to this information or if it's purely internal to ABSA.

Yes I have no idea of your background. Just like you know fokol about me. All I know about you, is that you want to duck and dive debt.

Thanks Mick. At least you have some manners.

Is there any way I can delete my profile from this forum? It's not the first time I've been ridiculed for posting a question related to bad debt. Apparently EVERYONE is rich here, and doesn't understand.

Thanks.

We all go through a bit/ spot of a valley, at some stage of our lives. Thing is to realise, that it does not define whom you are. So you are in debt, ...make a plan to get out of it...and yeah, sometimes it can become a bit messy, getting out of it. But you will, and will be better for the experience. Vasbyt man!
