So Gotze fails to make the squad after winning the WC in Brazil, while Reus failed to make that world cup makes this one...

This Timo Werner looks like he could be awesome for Germany...

Joe Hart furious at World Cup snub and blames West Ham manager David Moyes for his failure to earn a place in Gareth Southgate's squad for Russia

Joe Hart is furious after being ruthlessly axed from England's World Cup squad.

Hart took the call from manager Gareth Southgate graciously, but is devastated by the news.

However, the goalkeeper is believed to be angry with West Ham manager David Moyes for leaving him out of the club's final three games of the season — which is understood to be a key reason behind Southgate's shock decision.

But Southgate phoned the 31-year-old on Monday night to inform him he had not made the cut. Hart's absence means that Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope will be rewarded for his excellent breakthrough season.

Southgate will also show his ruthless side on Wednesday when he leaves out Jack Wilshere from his 23-man party to travel to Russia next month. The England coach rang the Arsenal midfielder to let him know on Tuesday morning.

Tricky decision. Nick Pope deserves the call up but as bad as Hart has been at times during his Torino and West Ham stints, you'd still want an experienced 'keeper over there.

Went through automatically after finishing 3rd in the CONCACAF qualifying group. Last round win over Costa Rica coupled with the US's shock loss against Trinidad put them through.

Good for them.I honestly hope we see some surprises and upsets this time, looking at the late Rashidi Yekini goal against Bulgaria in the adverts brought back good memories. Nigeria is too weak and less skilful that it used to be, Senegalese are too big and slow, maybe Korea will perform well.

That is the story of the World Cup. Every tournament has a surprise package or two but in the end it is the European or South American heavyweights that determining the outcome in the later rounds.

Korea has some quality footballers. Japan has got an open group as well, could set them up for a push.

As for the African sides; Egypt will be the best bet and they also have a fairly open group. I can see them earning results against Uruguay (not as potent as they were 4-years ago), Saudi Arabia (very beatable) and the even the hosts. Unfortunately though, a lot will be on the shoulders of one very tired Mo Salah.
 
Nigeria actually do have a realistic chance of getting out of that group if they can get their **** together. Egypt have a tougher proposition. Russia and Uruguay (with biter) should be favorites to emerge out of that group plus Egypt have a habit of underperformance despite their good team on paper.

lol predictions are generally a thumb suck :D who would have ever though Germany would have gone on to thump Brazil 7-1 and win the World Cup, Iceland beating and knocking England out etc...
 
Hmm second time now the worst team in the WC qualifies automatically due to host status...

I can just imagine the Qatar world cup... 101 ranked team qualifies automatically...

If Sweden or Mexico could upset the Germans we'd get Brazil v Germany in the 2nd round :twisted:
