Fight against Mirai-like botnet attacks

Securifi has launched an IoT device security service to protect against Mirai-like botnet attacks using machine learning.

Ive got a far better solution:

1 Deploy a Mirai like botnet
2 Have it log into devices with default credentials
3 If 2. is successful change the default login and password to a random 64 character string, keep no record of it
4 Repeat

This might sound terrible but manufacturers, IT Technicians and consumers need to start taking security seriously and the only way that will happen is if a botnet changes the passwords for them, and it forces vendors to take action.

Nope, won't work.

Only repeated percussion testing with the proper tool on said misbehaving IoT device will work.
