Its why i hate Flickr

I have seen quite a few folks saying no invites

IMO they should set it up that you can auto deny invites

Look at the first person's comments:

I count 13 invites and 4 admin invites from that one person. They appear seconds after you upload your pic. Sometimes the comments don't make any sense, like:

Now look at the number of comments on that person's stream:

What's the point of this?

Just set the privacy settings to "only friends can comment".

It helps :)

That, and the way they pollute your photo's the rectangles all over the place (whatever they are called). Really should be a way of disabling them.

Did you put the word 'Macro' in the tags? They all seem to have picked up on that word. Maybe don;t put tags on your photos and see what hapeens.

I guess that's the price you pay to have your ego stoked by the group'ies. :D

People join so many groups and have so many invitations to dish out why not automate it?

You can in your account prefs. Just change the "Who can add notes & tags?"

To insult your intelligence.

I just delete the comments I don't like. I absolutely hate the ones that have animated gifs or flashing logos in. I don't mind the invites, I don't mind if they have some tasteful logo either, but I don't want stuff that distract from my image.

While talking about reasons for stuff, what's your reasoning behind the first comment (from you) - you do that with all your images. Just curious :)

After waiting in vain for just one comment that would make me a better photographer I finally just disabled comments.

My 2 year membership expires in june so perhaps its time to give smugmug a shot next.
