Hi

their is over 7 gig of data in my "hidden" Users/User/AppData folder. its not so much..but on SSD it take some space away...can i delete some of the files? And does SSD slow down if it becomes full like normal HDDs?

thx in advance

You can delete your hiberfil.sys file and your system restore points if you don't intend on using them. No doubt both will be taking up some space on your hard drive.

System Restore Points:

Space Sniffer is a great program that lets you see exactly what is using up space on your hard drive. You can download it here http://www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/

Use this program rather....
It knows which files it can and cannot delete.

Good idea on Windows 7, bad idea on Windows 8.

The AppData directory contains various program settings, but mostly a lot of temporary files.
You can use TreeSize free to see exactly which folders are large:
http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

Any Office folders (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc) will usually hold temporary files that weren't saved. If you are being prompted to open unsaved files when you open those apps, those could be quite large. Also sometimes these files are not all cleared when you close Office apps and select Remove unsaved files.

Anyway, if you run TreeSize free and post back which are your largest folders, we should be able to provide more guidance.
