I got my free Telkom modem yesterday, which came with two filters. Oddly, though, there are 2 phone out sockets. I guess this is just as a convenience, in case you have two phones you want to plug in (or a phone and an alarm)?
I do wish that it came with a splitter or two, though, because I'd like to have my router and a phone plugged into the same jack - and I'd think that this is what most people would want to do. Guess they make more money selling them separately
But it means even more little boxes and cables, and looks a bit messy.
The filter I had in the UK was great - it was a filter and splitter combined, so it had one line in socket, and then a phone out and an adsl out socket (presumably the filtering only happened on the phone out part). I was hoping to use it here, but it seems that the UK phone socket is a different shape to ours
Pity, because it was really convenient to have it all in one compact little box!
