Final PC Build Help

Its not bad, closer to what I'd normally recommend to most people. I don't agree with the chassis or PSU, but both will be fine should you decide to take the cheaper route.

Nag Weasley - What about a more silent case around the 700 to 900 ranges? Something thats quiet, has dust filters, will keep things cool, and looks good? For example the cooler master enforcer, silencio 450 or 550, solo 2? Seems the silencio 550 is good enough for all the components to fit?

The Sliencio 550 is indeed big enough for most builds and I'd happily recommend it, so long as you keep a cloth around to clean the front of the case every once in a while. I would also have a look at:

Corsair Carbide 400R @ R906 (has a fan controller, pretty quiet from what people tell me)
Lian Li PC-A06F @ R838 (also quiet, great build quality)
NZXT Phantom 410 Black @ R1099 (a little more expensive, but its worth the price. Pretty close to Silverstone's Raven, though)

The K380 is quite a nice gaming case for sub R500, but for a media centre you might want a more simple look. If you want to put a lot of effort into it, you can perhaps go for a mini-ITX build with the Coolermaster Elite 120 case :D

I'd go with either the Antec HCG 520W Modular PSU or the Coolermaster Silent Pro M2 420W Modular PSU if you're not going to overclock.

Also, if you're not going to overclock the CPU at all, by buying a non K model CPU (eg. i5 3570 and not i5 3570k), then go for a non Z77 chipset motherboard - which should save you a couple of hundred bucks.

Lastly:
I'm not a fan of wireless keyboards for gaming, but to use it as a remote control when watching movies ain't bad ;)

Hi All,

Build:
· MB:GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3H
· Processor:Intel Core i5 3470, 3.2GHz
· Graphics:Sapphire HD7850, 2GB
· RAM: Team Elite 8GB
· Case: Antec One
Hopefully the dust filters will help and can keep the contents cool and can fit the graphics card.
· PSU:Antec HCG-M (High Current Gamer Modular), 520w
Trying to find something as good but cheaper?
· Keyboard:GIGABYTE KM7580
· DVD / RW:LG GH22NS50, 22x SATA
· HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003, 1TB
· Internet: D-Link DWA-121

Thank you!

This is a great rig, but why not opt for the [email protected] instead of the [email protected] (for an extra ~R400)

Thanks man. You've always got good recommendations.
Based on what you have said, im thinking of:

reverting back to the Team Elite RAM - what you think?
But if i am not overclocking, do i really need that MB? And for the PSU ill revert back to the Antec High Perf Gamer.
Also im thinking of getting the Silencio 550 case and maybe getting a wired keyboard as there may be a slight delay when gaming.

Lastly even though my budget is 7500 grand, its somehow grew!?!?!

Pada - thanks for the info

TEAM is a good brand, stick to it if you'd like to save some cash. You're not getting significantly better performance with other name brands anyway, at least not in ways easily visible to the naked eye.

No, not really. I always recommend overclocking for extra performance once the rig gets into its third year, but you can stick with the B75 board and be happy :-)

Good choices there. I've actually not had any bad experiences with wireless keyboards when gaming. Other's experiences do vary but I think its only at a higher level of competition that you might find the wireless connection lags for a specific game. The whole anti-wireless movement is only against the mouse anyway, keyboards are perfectly fine.

The Dollar exchange rate went up recently, that's why things are a little more expensive today and this week in general.

Thanks man! Was told the mb not good for gaming but will think about the price since am only getting it next month. Is the microsoft keyboard 600 any good?

Think am hundreds for my build now! May just get a few peripherals from esquire since will be cheaper!

Anyone used esquire to buy and build their gaming rig?
Are they reliable? Do they do a good job?

What you guys think?

Hey Nag - Wesley,

I was trying to purchase my stuff from Rebeltech and apparently 3 or 4 items are out of stock yet on the website you can actually "add to cart". So now i have to wait - and they dont know when  they will have stock!

Soooo my question to you, is that how difficult is it to build my very own pc, becuase it will be very difficult to buy my components from one place. I know my way around really well in terms of software related issues on a pc, and have opened a pc before. But building a whole pc from scratch is fairly daunting. Is it a simple matter of a 'walkthrough' and doing A followed by B then plug in this to that?? Surely i can simply follow the instructions/manuel? But then again i dont want to 'blow up' the pc!!:wtf:

Also when finding out from a variety of places, it seems i was recommended to rather purchsaed a MSI GTX660 OC 2GB graphics card as it is only 100 bucks more than the Radeon 7850. What you think?

Even though my budget is around 7000 to 8000 all places think i should upgrade EVERYTHING, resulting in paying 2 or 3 grand extra!!

Thanks alot for your much needed wisdom!! :D
