Finally, a worthy upgrade from T260??

If it's 16:9 then no.
 
It's still a 1920 X 1080 which sucks so badly, so definitely not a worthy successor to the T260, IMO.
 
If it's not an IPS panel with 1920x1200 or higher resolution, then it's not a worthy upgrade over the T260.
 
there was an article about why they are not going to make 1920x1200 screens anymore.... so shouldn't we just accept and move along...

This t260 is not going to last forever lol...

as for ips.... different league, we can't really compare them for the sake of staying within a certain price range...
 
+1 to the rest of these comments. Never quite liked 1920x1080 after upgrading from 1680x1050 and then went 1920x1200 and it's perfect!
 
it's not as if a few enthusiasts are gonna make them change their mind....

I don't think there's anything we can do..... maybe, just maybe they relaunch 1920x1200 at a premium price.

I think they still make 16:10 monitors with a 2560xsomething res, you'd have to go with Dell or HP for that probably and then it would cost an arm...

LED backlit & lower resolution is not an improvement over the T260.
This looks more like a replacement for the P2770.

When the time eventually comes I'd far rather get a similarly sized Dell IPS monitor, which comes with a proper stand, to replace my T260.
 
it is a well known fact that ips is better than tn..

BUT

not all of us want to spend that type of money.... i think i've mentioned the price/budget issue several times in this thread....
 
I'm not sure why this is being classed as 'reasonable', when all it seems to be is a LED backlit version of the P2770H at about a 35% increase in price (In the US, 50% more expensive at the one place I could find it here). Same brightness, same static contrast ratio. Plus it does not even have decent inputs, with only 1 HDMI and 1 D-Sub, ugh, and doesn't appear to have any audio passthrough, let alone USB.

All you are getting is screen real-estate. It is nothing like as good as the T260 as a complete package.
 
The powerboard on my T260 keeps frying. Took it back to CRT yesterday and getting the 27" as a replacement.

I know, downgrade, but hopefully the new monitor will spend more time on my desk than in the repair shop.

I'ma miss her. :(

True, but back when I got this T260 it was going for R5k(R4k after trade in:)), the Dell 27" seems to be going for around R7k. So the better specifications justify the cost in my opinion.
 
I have a Samsung T240 and have one issue with it. It cannot display 16:9 content without stretching the image vertically. When i initially bought the monitor, i wanted to use it for PC and XBOX. The stretched images irritated me too much, so i ended up getting a tv as well. Just worth noting though.
