Some excellent news, I just discovered albeit it a little late that 2Checkout (2CO) now support South Africa, fully yes fully, you can sell in Rands and they will pay you out directly to your South African Bank account.

What's even nicer is 2CO will accept Paypal payments for you and then pay the funds to you. Awesome!

Finally what we have been wanting! How long have we been waiting for this!

Whats great about this is 2Checkout are well respected in the industry, plus they have a great cost structure for their fees, and most of the open source and commercial ecommerce software packages support 2Checkout natively so no more redeveloping gateways so they work for us.
 
It sounds great but:

# $49 USD one time sign up fee
# 5.5% and $.45 USD per sale

No monthly fees at least, but 5.5% is pretty high...
 
www.vcs.co.za ? seems to be serving local merchants perfectly for cc payments and i believe you can integrate to OS Commerce etc. etc.
 
5.5% is average for SA. Setup cost isn't o bad $49 USD now is about R400 which is cheaper than SA gateways charge, plus there is no monthly fees.

Problem with current gateways in SA is they don't accept PayPal as a payment option, where now from a single gateway you can accept credit cards and PayPal and they will pay out locally.
 
Correction - its not the SA gateways, its issues between Paypal and SARB to do with currency exchange rules/regulations/shortfalls etc. etc.
 
True but I think we are missing the point, we finally have an International Gateway, which is well respected, coming into SA with a solution that works. This is great for us!
 
2Checkout does not support Rands

I signed up for this a month ago when they were giving South Africans free acconts. At the time of sign up there was no way to charge a customer in Rands. I see they still do NOT offer Rands as a pricing currency. They have about 12 currencies you can choose from but rands are not in the list. Therefore you cannot charge customers in rands. Which SUCKS! :mad:
 
This isn't new news, a couple of months ago when they released this there was no setup fee's. Apparently their transfers into your bank account costs quite a bit though
