So after 5 years of RAIN its time to call it a day...The last 8 months have been absolutely terrible with speeds often less then 5Mbps and constant disconnects and high ping. Initially RAIN was a good option as it was R500 odd for unlimited data but when you can barely make use of the network, well, thats when we have to part ways. Last straw was seeing a picture downloading almost line by line as though we are back in the days of GPRS/Edge...
I've opted for the 200G at R399 from MTN...Speeds are as follows for MTN...massive difference from RAIN.
DOWNLOAD Mbps
78.75
UPLOAD Mbps
37.68
Ping ms 38
No support tickets were ever logged so the issues just continued....And I am gatvol.
I have cancelled my RAIN on their website and have sent a message to the rep here to confirm that it has been received and what the final billing amount will be. Screenshot is below.
I did try to call them on 081 610 1000 as well...however after 10 minutes I just gave up...
I feel that I have done everything reasonable to ensure this is cancelled.
I would also like to get my CC details removed from their site.
I will update this as we go along as I know they are likely to still keep on debiting me.
Apparently they cannot cancel straight away. Although in a previous call I was told it would be a prorata rate but anyway...
Lets see at month end.
