Finally Cosatu is doing something useful

"If the public rally together and stand firm in the face of tolling by not registering for e-tags and flagrantly disregarding tolling costs and consequent fines, will the authorities have the wherewithal to manage a disgruntled five million motorists?"

I'm not a member of Cosatu, I've never toyi-toyi'd or burned things down in protest and I'm generally a law-abiding citizen (meaning I normally pay my bills).
However, I don't agree that the tolls are fair seeing as I don't have an alternative (public transport) and I am already taxed on fuel to maintain the roads.
The above statement thus reflects my civil disobedience and method of protest - I will not get an e-tag and I will ignore fines until I am faced with court action.
I am evilstebunny, hear me roar! :D

Ja nee, the current tolls gantries don't even make sense, you can drive a distance between some offramps and onramps and pay nothing but if you pass under one between 2 close offramps and onramps and there is a gantry between them you have to pay...

I'm not planning on doing anything either.
I hope everyone else will also do nothing as a form of protest.
This is going to become an administrative nightmare for them.

To add to that, when faced with court action, don't sign for receipt of any documents that you are not currently expecting. If someone comes to your gate or house and you dont know who they are, dont go out. If they ambush you as you get home, or you do happen to go outside. Dont leave your premisses and when they ask you for your name or if you are Mr/Mrs So and So. Feign ignorance. Claim that you are too busy and walk inside. If you get a registered postal note in your mail box and you are not expecting anything, dont go and collect it. The longer you avoid being "officially" served any papers. The more backlog you will cause, the more weight you will add to your goals and your cause.

Fight strong my evil furry friend.
